Lindsey Stirling Sunrise Concert reviews
astal weeks
I read a review about this show in Boston. Almost cried because I missed it. I bought two tickets immediately when I knew I could see it at the beautiful new MGM Theatre at Foxwoods. My first time seeing Lindsey Stirling was 1975, age 18. As amazing as that first time was, this matched the purity of her best performances and if it's the last time I see Lindsey live in concert, I'll be smiling at the memory.
The majority wanted to hear the great old hits, which I too love. After Lindsey left without an encore, (which didn't bother me one bit), in the elevator, casinos and bars, I heard a general disappointment. "She didn't play Caravan! Moondance! Domino! " they complained. "Why would she think we'd want to hear all that new stuff? Plus she just walked off the stage!" I believe now that I was perhaps one tenth of the audience who was there to hear "ASTRAL WEEKS". However, toward the end of the show, I was thinking that the silence of the audience might not be quite the same silent awe that I was experiencing.
I must say that the audience was quiet and reverent as it was back in the day. I was transfixed from start to finish. The album is a masterpiece and it was played as beautifully. The music was Heaven. Lindsey's voice rang out. She wasn't going through the motions. I can still hear the flutes and the bells. To imagine your favorite album being performed by your favorite artist is like a dream and it was; a music lover's dream. I told a few people that this music was made about 40 years but it was pointless.
Only see this if you really love Lindsey Stirling, not just her hits.
